During this pandemic Covid-19, certain places are in Movement Control Order (MCO) that are believed to have high covid-19 area risks. They need the supply of food to survive in this crisis. Food is any nourishing that provides energy, promotes growth, sustains life and others meanwhile agriculture is to raise crops, feeding, breeding, livestock and farming. Due to the MCO there many places are affected especially people who p are unable to afford food or loss their job.

    This pandemic also cause a huge demand for food from all over the state in Malaysia. Especially in areas that are severely affected, but some places are not get enough the food supply for example the water village in Semporna, Sabah. This story is based on the true story of some quarantined villages that do not get enough food supply from the government or are overlooked due to insufficient population. 

For the social innovation of the food and agriculture, the tool must be a modernization tool of public policies dedicated to giving a better answer to social problems. This social innovation that I want to made is called “Green village” this concept is about to build a garden that consist of vegetable or fruit that planting for everyone in the village. If there are opened and unused land it will be suitable for this planning. They can build a greenhouse for they village. Each family need to provide seeds for planting and improve the tool or technology for planting. When the time for harvesting come, it can be a sources food for the village, if there is a large surplus can also sell at farmers market can directly help the economy of the farmer.

We have lived in the modern age of the 21st century, but there are still some problems with electricity supply in the interior of peninsular Malaysia and Sabah. As my reflection back then, energy can cause a heat and it can take many different forms. Also it can harm human health because of nasty air pollution, burning fossil fuels and to keep power stations working there are huge amounts of fuel reserves and make energy generation very expensive.

            This pandemic also affect the energy uses in the house due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) that started 18 March 2020. Because of the restricted movement everyone ordered to stay at home and the uses of electric are increases and the bill are increasing drastically. Yeo Bee Yin (2019) the Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) said that the Electricity Supply Industry Trust Account (AAIBE) will be used in phases to solve electricity supply problems in the interior of the Peninsula and Sabah.

In my opinion why not we are as a citizen help the government to get the ideas for energy problems that occur at rural areas. So here I have a suggestion to do a biomass energy at the rural area I call it as “Happy Community Biomass”. The facilities of biomass energy suitable for biomass systems include colleges, universities, hospitals, public buildings, hotels and motels, commercial buildings, greenhouses, large-scale agricultural operations, manufacturing, power plants, schools and community energy systems. The interior peninsular and Sabah mostly are farmers and have many sources from plant. I suggest it because biomass are low fuel costs, independence energy, minus particulate emissions, low carbon dioxide, and reduced solid waste disposal. This project not only give energy but it also gives a chance to anyone who does not have a work.

Referring to my title is about the proposal on the social innovation for the human population. Department of Statistics Malaysia in its press release in 2019, states that by 2030, the percentage of Malaysians aged 60 to top is expected to increase to 15 percent. According to the portal myhealth.gov.my, a country will be called an old country when the people are 60 years old and over 15 per cent of the total population. Based on statistics and the definition, it can be concluded that Malaysia will be a country old in a period of not less than 10 years.

The definition of an old country can also be defined to a country when 7 percent of its citizens are aged 65 and above. If according to this definition, Malaysia is actually an old country by 2020 due to estimates released by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (2016) in Population Projection, Malaysia, 2010-2040 expects the number of Malaysians aged 65 and above is 7.2 per cent by 2020. According to data released by the Department Malaysia Statistics (2019), percentage Malaysian population aged 60 years and above has reached 10 percent on year 2018 and expectations of 10.3 percent on 2019. Percentage residents aged 65 and over also increased in 2019, is estimated at 6.7 percent compared to 6.5 percent in 2018. The same goes for middle age statistics in Malaysia, increased to 28.9 years in 2019 compared to 28.6 years in 2018.

So Malaysia must be prepared to face the challenge of becoming an old country. But before it more critical I suggest to do a solution street art called “My Big Family” to encourage our people to increase the fertility. Cause nowadays women tend more to the career than family. So when the street art made widely I believe, little by little the feeling of wanting to have a family is getting stronger. It is called as intrinsic, intrinsic motivation is created naturally from internal stimuli. It consists of the encouragement and interest of individuals to do an activity without expecting or asking for rewards.

As my photophonic reflection back then, the picture that I took is road of Behrang 2020. The situation is very calm and less traffic jammed. During this pandemic covid-19, it is change our lifestyle and control our movement. Even though this pandemic gives a negative impact to the economy of global but it gives a positive impact to our earth that is known in critical condition due to the human activities such as deforestation, mining, and others that cause the land pollution.

These irresponsible activities can cause harm to the health and also to environment. The nature can observe the pollution if it in the small quantity but, if it too large it the nature will give it back as a disaster. For example, flash flood, land slide, smog, air pollution, rain acid and others. So that, my suggestion is do a social innovation that can help to heal the earth over a long time period. As a time flies along the pandemic, everyone a stay at home and work from home. So they can spend their time with family. I suggest to do a program “Happiness with 1 Tree”.

The program of “Happiness with 1 Tree” is planting a tree within range one week so if their do this program one month probably they can plant 4 or more tree. There is no specific tree it can be a flower tree, fruit tree or others. They can plant the tree where ever they want with their own creativity as their activities at home during this Movement Control Order (MCO). The participant need to upload their activities in social media as a challenge to our community. This is because nowadays trend, people more tend to do a challenge that shows at a media social. It can encourage people to do this program during MCO. I believe at the end of the result the plant that been planted can be a forest, vegetable farm or park that full with ecosystem.

As we know health is very important for our life. As an issue on my previous reflections, it is about dengue and malaria that cause by a female mosquito named Aedes aegypti and parasite species named Plasmodium parasite. As I mention about it at my last photophonic reflection of medical health and issue the dengue do not have a vaccine that been approved, but we still we can prevent before being exposed, because avoiding is better than cure.

So in my proposal, I would like to suggest “Our Beautiful residence”. This program is about to bring the community to do the activities clean the house every week. As we know this cases are from mosquito, the first thing to do is destroy mosquito breeding grounds. Must know the places that have a high possibility mosquito breed. Such as drainage drains, vase, toilet pumps and other places that believe a stagnant area.

This program is about the competition from one residence to other residence or village each zone. Every family need to join this program and take turns cleaning the area and beautifying their residential area. Every month, the committee member will come to check housing or village to assess the creativity of the residents and the cleanliness. At the end of year, they will announce the winner each zone. With this program, the resident will care about hygiene and health and will give more positive vibes to others.

     Since time immemorial, biotechnology has influenced human existence irrespective of one's religion, skin colour, and way of life, whether we know it or not, we have been biotechnology users. In terms of more precise biotechnology terms, "Psychological manipulation is usually done through genetic techniques, as well as microorganisms, especially bacteria, to produce chemicals, industrially"

    The creation, use and control of biological systems for the remediation of polluted ecosystems (land, air, water) and for environmentally safe processes is environmental biotechnology. We are aware that pandemic covid-19 causes us to live a new life of norms. Which we are need to always wash our hands and use face masks. Now the issue is, the facemask are disposed incorrectly. As my reflection back then, some people are throw facemask everywhere, such as on the road, in a park, river or sea. this not only causes pollution but it can also cause the spread of covid-19 faster and endanger the lives of other animals.

            Since most people use medical face masks made from plastics such as polypropylene. So in my proposal of social innovation, I have a solution about using a fully bio-based facemask for this issue. I would like to suggest the theme “Face Point”, the face point is a facemask disposal checkpoint that will provided in every supermarket, shop, mall. The function is for replaced the medical facemask that usually used nowadays, each removal of the facemask in the vending machine Face Point will get fully bio-based masked, but in advance each medical facemask purchase will have a deposit as a fully bio-based facemask price. So this fully bio-based facemask are easily decomposed. At the end, it will reduce the pollution and reduce the risk of marine life and human health.

            Biodiversity refers to the number of genes, plants, human organisms and biological populations within a given species and within a specified geographical area, spanning from the smallest broadcast biome to the worldwide biosphere. As my reflection back then of my reflection I have mentioned about the endangered species, that need our attention. If there are no attention about this endangered species, they may extinct from this earth forever and the next generation may not know about its existence before.

            My place is a tourist spot, known as one of the best resort in Malaysia due to the geographical, that have many island and marine ecosystem and I lived at Semporna, Sabah. There are many marine life and the most famous is turtle, turtle is one of an endangered species. The main risk to marine life is a plastic disposal or the plastic material. There are many marine life that are dead or trapped in plastic and been eaten is still stored in his body system. While when cleaning dishes, massive plastic waste may be extracted from larger fish, the major issue is the micro-plastic consumed by small fish and smaller shellfish, which are undetectable and can seep into the contents and can pollute the ecosystem.

So in this proposal I would like to suggest to build a machine named “Get Money”. This machine is about to give a money when plastic is placed into the machine. Basically the plastic bag which we use to save after buying goods is still widely used whether it is given for free or sold.  So for the social innovation I suggest to every purchase using plastic is subject to a deposit. The deposit can be returned in the machine provided that placed at mall, store, supermarket. Indirectly the locals or tourists who come will maintain cleanliness as well as help the less fortunate to continue living. It also will less the plastic disposal into the water and encourage people to recycle the plastic.
